Rules for Academic Speeches of Korea Society of Ceramic Art 


1. Principles

In principle, only regular members without past-due membership fee or honorary members are eligible for speech at the Academic Conference.

2. Submission of speech script 

(1) For the script of speech, a printed copy and a computer file in Hangul must be 
submitted. The printed copy must be in high resolution, for it will be used as 
the original copy for printing.

(2) The scripts may be written in a foreign language (English), but must be done so 
with Hangul. 

(3) scripts are to be submitted 00 days prior to the date of Conference, according 
to the announced schedules of the Conference.

(4) scripts and data submitted are not to be returned.

3. Size and composition of scripts

(1) scripts submitted for the Conference are not subject to screening, but speakers
are requested to prepare them considering the academic level of the scripts 
and of the Conference.

(2) The length of script should be 5 to 8 pages including the cover page.

(3) The fee for printing the script is \\50,000, which is to be paid when applying 
for the speech at the Conference.

(4) The size of conference journal should be A4 (210 X 297mm) with 25mm of top, 
bottom, left and right margins, respectively.

(5) For each script, the title, name of author and organization are to be marked at 
the top of the cover page, at 60mm from the top or lower. 

(6) The table of contents and abstracts in Korean and English shall be on the page 
next to cover page.

(7) Three to five key words shall be written in English below the abstract.

(8) Main script

1. All sentences are to be written in accordance with Korean orthography.

2. In principle, the scripts must be clearly divided into introduction, main topic, conclusion, footnotes and references according to the general rules of paper.

3. Subtitles of the scripts (chapter, paragraph, phrase) are to be clearly divided and 
noted. When a chapter is finished, a line space shall be given to begin the next
chapter. When a paragraph or a phrase is finished, next one shall begin on the 
next line without a line space. The order of marking the numbers shall be 1, 2, 
3 / 1.1, 2.1, 3.1 or (1), (2), (3).

4. In principle, foreign words or Hanja (Chinese character) are to be spelled out in 
Korean words. If it is hard to carry the exact meaning for a particular foreign 
word or a Hanja in spelled-out Korea word, such foreign word or Hanja in 
a parenthesis may be added next to the Korean word .

5. Other marks and units shall be written according to international standards.

(9) Figures and Tables

1. Figures and tables shall be written in black and white in the main topic and 
photographs are regarded as figures. Figures and tables are to be numbered
like Figure 1, Table 1 and table 2-1, etc.

2. The locations of figures and tables are to be chosen by the author. The figures and tables are to be laid out in their respective locations and included in the 
printed copy of the script submitted as the original copy for printing.

(10) Footnotes and references

Footnotes are to be marked as 1), 2) and 3) at the top of relevant pages and references are to be noted as follows:

- For books, papers, theses and articles : In the order of author, title, name of 
publisher, year published and the page number referenced.

- For translations : In the order of author, translator, title, name of publisher, year 
published and the page number referenced.

-For magazines : In the order of title, name of magazine, volume, number, year 
published and the page number referenced.
